Considering a Wedding Planner
While your wedding should be one of the most special and treasured days of your life, it’s no secret that it also has the potential to be one of the most stressful days of your life! Making sure your wedding goes off without a hitch is possible with the right support.
The Struggle of Planning Your Own Wedding
When your partner first popped the question, your mind was probably filled with one resounding answer: YES! Then, after all the tears, hugs, and kisses, you probably started to wonder when you should get married and where and who to invite. In fact, it seems like one answer opens the door to a dozen more questions.
So, you’ve nailed down the guest list, but now your mind is racing. Where will everyone park? What about the seats - how will they be arranged? And how is the bridal party going to make their entrance at the reception? Will the MC be able to pronounce the maid of honor’s name correctly?
Are you feeling overwhelmed yet?
Even if you and your partner decide to take on the task of planning your own wedding (yay for power couples!) chances are, you’ll probably want to hand off the reigns at some point to be able to enjoy your day. This is where day-of wedding management can be a lifesaver.
Wedding Management vs. Wedding Planning?
Full-blown wedding planning is different from wedding management (sometimes referred to wedding day coordination) on your wedding day in the sense that planning is more involved in the lead-up than the other. As the owner of a wedding planning service, I work with dozens of couples to make sure their day happens exactly the way they envisioned, and that means fitting the needs of my brides and grooms.
Maybe the idea of planning your own wedding makes you want to curl up in a ball and hide or maybe you feel confident juggling vendors, invitations, and booking hotels, but you need some assistance on the big day. Whatever you need to make sure you actually enjoy one of the happiest days of your life (instead of chasing down vendors because someone forgot to bring forks or finding the lost keys to your getaway car) is what I do best.
Wedding Management Duties
While disaster protocol is definitely an important part of wedding management and creating lovely memories instead of stressful ones, my goal as a coordinator on your wedding day is to plan ahead (as much as possible) to prevent problems from cropping up. I meet with couples weeks or months in advance to go over guest count, checklists, and vendor contracts to make sure every detail is accounted for. Then, on the day of the wedding, I help the flow of the ceremony by directing everyone to their places, get the tables set up on time for the reception, make sure all of your guests find the right spot, and help pack away everything for the vendors at the end of the day.
Avoid Common Wedding Problems
Avoiding common wedding day problems is so much easier with the right support. But, how can you pick out a quality wedding coordinator? The truth is that on the day of your wedding, the coordinator should tackle problems before anyone knows there’s a problem at all. This might mean racing halfway across town to pick up the wedding ring that the best man forgot in his hotel room just in time for it to reach the groom’s hand during the ceremony. In short, you’ll know your wedding management was worthwhile when you don’t hear about any problems from them and the whole event feels flawless!

Check out what some of my past clients had to say about management on the big day:
“Thank you, thank you, thank you for being there incognito and making sure every little glitch was fixed without stressing the bride and groom.”
-Emilio Hernandez
“Wanda handled all of the delegating/fussing over details and kept everything on time. She handled this with a refinement that made her feel like a background figure, and made us shine, even though in reality she was running the show!”
- Jesse Swan
