Weddings and Events at Colorado Chapels and Churches
The wedding world has been getting more vast for years as brides and couples decide to celebrate their weddings and events in a way that best represents their love. Despite the changing traditions around weddings and marriages, there’s something inherently special about celebrating your marriage in the grandeur and serenity of a church or chapel. The venue for your wedding is a personal choice that only you and your partner can make. (Right up there with choosing your wedding dress)
Having planned many weddings and events in churches throughout Colorado, we’ve gathered a handful of our favorite venues to consider and chapel inspiration to guide your own ceremony decisions.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church
Located right in the heart of Boulder, the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is a beautiful and central option for Catholic couples looking to say their I do’s in a timeless, classic church venue. Boulder’s bustling scene gives you options for a reception locally in a church venue, local restaurant or event space, or outdoors.
Air Force Academy Chapel
This location holds a special place in our hearts (did you know I was a military wife for years???) While the Air Force Academy chapel is limited to couples where at least one partner meets eligibility requirements for active service, this iconic venue is stunning location for eligible wedding services. The chapel is one of the most visited man-made tourist attractions in the state of Colorado and stands 150 feet tall and features 17 spires made of aluminum, glass, and metal. The chapel is currently under construction with an expected completion date of 2023. We can’t wait!
Your Local Chapel or Church
If you and your partner have decided to commit to your lives together before God in a church wedding, you may already have a church or a chapel in mind. It may be the church you grew up attending or the local chapel you and your partner joined after moving to a new town. Wherever your chapel or church location, a religious ceremony can bring you, your soon-to-be-spouse, and your faith together for a beautiful, memorable event.
And Don’t Forget the Pastor!
When considering church venues for your wedding, an important piece of that decision is the pastor or clergy-person who will officiate your ceremony. When looking at different churches, meet with the pastor who would be the officiant at that venue to ensure that you and your fiance feel comfortable with them. You can ask about other marriages they’ve officiated, themes or bible passages they’ve included in their past ceremonies, and any inclusions you want to have on your wedding day. Many churches also include counseling or consultation with the pastor before your big day to help ensure that you and your partner are ready to stand before family, friends, and your faith to say your vows.
