Travel Tips For Your Beach Wedding
A destination beach wedding is an incredible, memorable celebration. Not only are you marrying the love of your life with a beautiful backdrop, you get to enjoy that destination before and after your ceremony with your toes in the sand and a drink in hand. But before you can kick back on the beach, you have to get there. Here are a handful of travel prep tips to make it to the beach with your belongings, body, and mind ready to relax and celebrate!

Fly In a Few Days Early
Plan to get to your destination a few days before your big day. This will give your body time to get over the stress of travel and give you the chance to iron out any last-minute details in person. Once you’re on the ground you can meet your local stylist and do a makeup and hair trial, do any final tastings with caterers or bakeries, and do a walk through of your ceremony and reception. Arriving a day or two before your guests also gives you a chance to explore the amenities and nearby restaurants so you’ll have suggestions ready for guests who ask and be ready to greet them. You do not want your wedding dress, suit, or wedding rings to get lost with your luggage. Even writing that sentence sends a shiver down my spine. To avoid a clothing disaster, plan to carry-on all the clothing, shoes, and accessories you plan to wear on your wedding day. Unpack your clothes for your ceremony as soon as you get to your room and make arrangements with your hotel or wedding planner to have your dress or suit steamed and wrinkle-free in advance of your big day.
Don’t Forget Your Passport!
Before you step foot out of your house, ensure that you have passports for you and your fiance! Without a passport, you’ll be out of luck getting out of the country and a major travel delay is not an ideal way to begin your wedding celebrations. Ensure that you have any other important documents for travel or your wedding plans packed safely away in your luggage, as well.

Take Care Of Yourself
Planning a wedding can be stressful, as can traveling to a faraway destination. While it is easy to get caught up in the last-minute details, ensure that you are making your own health and well-being a priority! While it can be hard to sleep in anticipation of your travels, try to get a solid eight hours each night leading up to your wedding. In the 24 hours before you get on your plane make hydration a priority to help your body adjust to air travel and mitigate any jet lag you may feel when you arrive. Schedule some time at a spa nearby your beach destination for a mani/pedi or facial if a little pampering can help you feel good.
