Kari & Greg
Kari & Greg: Finally!
At weddings, we hear a lot of “congratulations,” or “so happy for you,” but not a lot of exclamations of “FINALLY!” In Kari and Greg’s case however, even the couple was buying into the theme of “we took our sweet time but we made it to the altar!”
The two had been together for nearly a decade before they tied the knot in October of last year. Their Hudson Gardens nuptials were both breathtaking and welcoming and overflowing with autumn flowers. Their guests were some of the most fun we have ever had the pleasure of meeting and were overjoyed to be there.
The ceremony began on the lawn near The Inn at Hudson Gardens and all focus was on Kari and Greg, especially considering they didn’t have a wedding party! Kari was escorted down the aisle by her father, a special moment for the two of them as her father had a few health concerns. The altar was draped with some of the most vibrant florals we have ever seen, designed by Lehrer’s Flowers. Greg has a knack for woodworking, so they housed their rings in a beautiful wooden box before the exchange. The two were then swept away to the rest of the gardens to take some more intimate photos.
As guests made their way toward The Inn for cocktail hour, the personal touches continued. The couple had really thought of everything, with personalized cocktail napkins, an eyecatching card box, a guest book full of fun photos, and lots of giveaways including champagne flavored gum and mini donettes. All of the elements of their wedding were tied together, from invitation to reception, with custom designs by Designs by Sarah Meyer. They also honored some of their family members (including a four legged one) with photos on the mantle of the fireplace in the buffet room. The linens tied in with the autumn theme, with brown and rusty orange to accent the ivory.
The reception was very laid back but full of heartfelt toasts and lots of hugs. Kari and Greg had his & hers aprons for while they ate their dinner, a delicious mix of barbeque style dishes from Rocky Mountain Catering, just to show off their goofy side a little more. After cutting the cake from Gateaux (just take a look at that topper!) dancing began. Tony of Soundmaster Entertainment knows how to keep a party going, with a little help from Molly's Spirits, but this crowd needed little encouragement. The party finally died down around midnight, but we have a feeling it may have continued late into the night, just not at Hudson Gardens!
It was truly an honor for us to be a part of Kari and Greg’s “finally,” and we wish them the best of luck in their “ever after.”
