Joanna ❤︎ Eric: A Shabby Chic Wedding

Joanna and Eric got married on a perfect August day at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denver. Their colors were navy blue and yellow, with beautiful sunflowers and delphinium arrangements made by Kimball Floral.

The overall theme was Colorado rustic with chic touches, complete with the bride and bridesmaids wearing fit and flare dresses and cowboy boots.

The reception was held at the The Inn at Hudson Gardens in Littleton. Joshua Paul Photography was able to catch an intimate moment as Joanna and Eric stole a kiss on the footbridge.

Mulberries Cake Shop made the small, three-tiered cake, which was designed to look like birch bark (a tree native to Colorado) and Kimball Floral decorated it with real flowers tying everything together. The cake topper made by Willow Tree was very symbolic of the sweet relationship between Joanna and Eric. They even “carved” the bride and groom’s initials into the “bark,” a very cute touch.

Nature Inspired Wedding Cake

One of my favorite things about this wedding was all the hand made décor that truly personalized the reception space. The “guest book” was a bench made by Joanna’s father from trees on their property. The stumps and wood slices were also from their property, all cut and sanded with TLC by family members.

The table “numbers” were also wood slices with the names of Colorado mountain ranges etched into them to designate which table each guest was assigned to.

The happy couple repurposed wooden pallets to create a timeline of their love story, as well as providing a unique backdrop for photos throughout their dating history.

It’s plain to see that Joanna and her family are very crafty, providing fun details wherever possible.

In addition to Joanna being creative, she is also a very good dancer. She was able to share a very special and upbeat song with her dad. The guests and Blue Linden were quite impressed with their talent.

Tony from Soundmaster Entertainment had the dance floor packed throughout the night and everyone had a great time. So many guests took to the dance floor that Blue Linden and Occasions Catering had to strike five extra tables just to make room. Both young and not so young danced the night away, literally until the last minute.

Packed Wedding Reception

Joanna and Eric’s wedding day was nearly perfect, and we are so happy we were a part of it. This is one of those couples that we’re sure will live happily ever after.
